Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before creating an account, purchasing a course or bundle, assigning a course to another learner, or using our learning platform.
By creating an account, placing an order or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects any statutory rights that you may have as a consumer which cannot legally be excluded or restricted.

PART A – WEBSITE AND ACCOUNT USE
3. Eligibility and Account Registration
You must provide accurate, complete and current information when registering with Learn for Care.
You must not:
- create an account using another person's identity without authority;
- provide deliberately false or misleading information;
- allow another person to complete a Course or assessment in your name;
- create accounts for fraudulent or unlawful purposes; or
- attempt to circumvent security or course-completion requirements.
If you create an account on behalf of a company or other organisation, you confirm that you have authority to act for that organisation.
You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential.
If you believe that your account has been accessed without authority, you should notify us promptly at support@learnforcare.co.uk.
4. Individual Accounts
An Individual Account is intended for use by the person registered to that account.
Courses assigned to an individual are for that individual's personal learning and must not be shared with another person unless we expressly allow this.
Course assessments and knowledge checks must be completed by the registered Learner.
Certificates may be issued using the details recorded on the Learner's account. You are responsible for ensuring that your name and other certificate information are correct before completing a Course.
5. Company Accounts
A Company Account may allow an organisation to:
- purchase Courses or Bundles;
- create or invite Learners;
- assign Courses or Bundles;
- monitor training progress;
- access completion information;
- access certificates; and
- manage authorised users or managers.
The organisation is responsible for ensuring that anyone using its Company Account is appropriately authorised.
The organisation is also responsible for ensuring that it has an appropriate lawful basis for providing Learner information to Learn for Care and for accessing Learner training records.
Courses purchased through a Company Account remain subject to any applicable licence, assignment and expiry restrictions.
A company administrator or manager must not complete training or assessments on behalf of a Learner.
6. Course Assignment and Transfer
Where the Platform allows Courses or Bundles to be assigned to Learners, the Customer is responsible for assigning them correctly.
Unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase:
- an unassigned Course may be assigned to an eligible Learner through the Company Account;
- once a Course has been assigned and materially accessed or commenced by a Learner, it may not normally be transferred to another Learner;
- completed Courses cannot be transferred; and
- certificates cannot be transferred from one person to another.
We may agree to correct an assignment made genuinely in error where the Course has not been materially used. Any such correction will be considered reasonably and may be subject to verification.
PART B – COURSES AND LEARNING CONTENT
7. Course Information
We take reasonable care to ensure that Course descriptions, learning outcomes, prices and other information on our Website are accurate.
Course pages form part of the information on which your purchase is based.
We may update Course content from time to time to:
- reflect changes in legislation, regulation or guidance;
- maintain accuracy;
- improve learning quality;
- correct errors;
- reflect good practice;
- maintain accreditation requirements; or
- improve technical functionality.
Updates will not materially reduce the core learning product that you have purchased without good reason.
8. Nature of Our Training
Learn for Care provides education and training resources.
Unless a Course expressly states otherwise, completing a Course:
- does not guarantee employment;
- does not guarantee promotion or professional registration;
- does not by itself demonstrate occupational competence;
- does not replace workplace supervision where this is required;
- does not replace competency assessment or observed practice where these are required;
- does not replace an employer's statutory training obligations; and
- does not constitute legal, medical, clinical or other regulated professional advice.
Employers remain responsible for determining whether a Course is suitable for a particular employee, role, service or regulatory requirement.
Where legislation, professional standards or an employer require practical demonstration, supervised practice, competency observation or workplace assessment, completion of an online Course alone may not satisfy that requirement.
9. Care Certificate and Workplace Competence
Where our training relates to the Care Certificate, care standards, safeguarding, first aid, moving and handling, medication, health and safety or other areas involving practical or workplace competence, the online Course provides learning and knowledge support unless expressly stated otherwise.
Where relevant standards require workplace assessment, practical demonstration, observation or employer sign-off, these must be completed separately by an appropriately competent person.
A Learn for Care completion certificate should not be represented as evidence of practical competence where practical assessment is separately required.
10. CPD Accreditation and Other Accreditation
Some Learn for Care Courses may be independently CPD accredited or otherwise reviewed by external organisations.
Where a Course is described as CPD accredited, that statement applies to the relevant Course and accreditation status at the time indicated.
CPD accreditation does not necessarily mean that completion of a Course:
- creates a regulated qualification;
- gives a statutory licence to practise;
- replaces professional registration;
- guarantees acceptance by every employer, regulator or professional body; or
- satisfies every organisation's training requirements.
Customers should check any specific employer, commissioner, regulator or professional-body requirements that apply to them.
11. Assessments and Pass Requirements
Courses may contain:
- quizzes;
- knowledge checks;
- multiple-choice questions;
- assessments; or
- other completion requirements.
The applicable pass mark will be displayed within the Course or assessment where relevant.
Learners may be permitted to retake assessments in accordance with the rules shown on the Platform.
We may withhold, cancel or invalidate a certificate where we have reasonable grounds to believe that:
- someone other than the registered Learner completed the assessment;
- assessment integrity was compromised;
- fraudulent information was provided;
- Platform controls were deliberately circumvented; or
- the certificate was obtained through misuse of the Service.
Where reasonably practicable, we will give the affected person an opportunity to explain the circumstances before taking final action.
12. Certificates
A certificate may be made available after the Learner has successfully satisfied the applicable Course-completion requirements.
Certificates record successful completion of the relevant Learn for Care Course. They do not certify wider professional competence unless expressly stated.
It is the Learner's responsibility to ensure their account information is accurate.
We may provide certificate-verification functionality allowing authorised persons to confirm the validity of certificates issued through our Platform.
We may correct administrative or typographical errors in certificates.
13. Course Availability and Expiry
Any applicable period of Course access or expiry will be displayed on the Course page, order information, Company Account, quotation or other purchase information.
Where an expiry date is specified, the Learner must complete the Course before that date.
Unused Courses may expire at the end of the stated access period unless an extension has been agreed with us.
Where no specific period is stated, access will be provided for a reasonable period having regard to the nature of the Course and purchase.
We may offer extensions at our discretion or as part of a separate commercial agreement.
PART C – ORDERS, PRICES AND PAYMENT
14. Placing an Order
Courses may be purchased:
- directly through our Website;
- through a Company Account;
- by payment link;
- by invoice;
- against an accepted purchase order; or
- by another method agreed with us.
An order is accepted when we confirm the order or make the purchased Course available, whichever occurs first.
We may decline an order where there is a reasonable commercial, legal, security or technical reason to do so.
If payment has already been taken for an order that we cannot accept, we will refund the relevant payment.
15. Prices
The price payable is the price displayed or quoted at the time the order is placed, unless there is an obvious pricing error.
Prices and any applicable taxes will be displayed or stated before payment or on the applicable quotation or invoice.
We may change our prices at any time, but price changes will not retrospectively affect a completed purchase.
Promotional prices, discount codes and special offers may:
- apply for a limited period;
- apply only to specified Courses or Customers;
- have additional eligibility requirements; and
- not be used together unless expressly stated.
16. Payment
Website purchases must be paid using the payment methods available at checkout.
For invoice purchases, payment must be made according to the payment terms specified on the invoice or agreed with us in writing.
We may withhold or suspend Course access where payment is overdue, subject to applicable law and any agreed contract terms.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate billing and purchase-order information.
17. Purchase Orders and Business Orders
If a Business Customer requires a purchase order number or other internal approval before making a purchase, it is the Customer's responsibility to provide that information before the invoice is issued wherever reasonably possible.
A failure by the Customer to complete its own internal purchase-order process will not normally cancel an otherwise valid order that was authorised by the Customer.
Terms printed or referred to on a Customer's purchase order will not replace these Terms unless we expressly agree to those alternative terms in writing.
Where we enter into a separately signed agreement with a Business Customer, that agreement will take priority to the extent that it expressly conflicts with these Terms.
18. Bulk Purchases
Organisations may purchase Courses or Bundles in bulk.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
- bulk licences may only be used within the purchasing organisation or for Learners whom the organisation is authorised to train;
- licences may not be resold;
- account access may not be provided to unrelated third parties for commercial resale;
- each licence is intended for one Learner; and
- unused licences remain subject to any applicable expiry period.
Special pricing or contractual terms may apply to bulk purchases and may be confirmed in a quotation, purchase order acceptance or written agreement.
PART D – CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS
19. Consumer Cancellation Rights
This section applies where you purchase as a Consumer.
For certain online purchases, Consumers may have a statutory right to cancel a contract within 14 days without giving a reason.
However, special rules apply to digital content supplied online.
Where you ask us to provide immediate access to digital content before the 14-day cancellation period has expired, we may ask you to:
- expressly consent to the supply of the digital content beginning immediately; and
- acknowledge that once supply of the digital content begins, you will lose the statutory right to cancel that digital-content contract.
Where the legal requirements for immediate supply have been satisfied and access to the digital content has begun, your statutory right to cancel that digital-content purchase may therefore end.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights where digital content is faulty, misdescribed or otherwise does not conform to the contract.
20. Cancellation Before Digital Content Is Supplied
Where you are a Consumer and:
- you have a statutory cancellation right;
- digital-content supply has not begun; and
- you have not otherwise lost that cancellation right,
you may cancel within the applicable statutory cancellation period.
To exercise a cancellation right, contact:
Please provide sufficient information for us to identify your order.
21. Refunds for Online Courses
We want Customers to receive the Course they purchased and to be able to use it as reasonably expected.
Refund requests will be considered in accordance with these Terms and applicable law.
A refund may be appropriate where, for example:
- we are unable to provide the Course purchased;
- the Customer has been charged incorrectly;
- a duplicate payment has been made;
- digital content does not conform to the applicable legal requirements and an appropriate statutory remedy applies; or
- a valid statutory cancellation right is exercised before it is lost.
We may also provide a refund or account credit in other circumstances at our discretion. Doing so on one occasion does not create an obligation to do so in every similar case.
We will not normally provide a discretionary refund merely because a Learner:
- changes their mind after commencing a Course;
- no longer requires the training;
- fails to complete the Course within an applicable access period;
- does not achieve the desired assessment result;
- purchases a Course that is unnecessary for their particular employment where its description was accurate; or
- has already completed the Course and obtained a certificate,
provided that this does not affect any statutory rights.
22. Business Customer Cancellations
Statutory consumer cancellation rights do not apply to purchases made wholly or mainly for business purposes.
For Business Customers, an order accepted by us is binding unless:
- the applicable quotation or contract states otherwise;
- we agree to cancellation in writing; or
- the Customer has another legal right to cancel.
Where a Business Customer has purchased a number of unassigned licences, we may, at our discretion, permit changes or transfers before those licences are assigned or used.
Any separately agreed enterprise, bulk-purchase or invoice terms will take priority where expressly stated.
23. Technical Problems
If you experience a technical problem, please contact us and provide reasonable information to help us investigate it.
We may ask for details such as:
- the email address associated with the account;
- Course name;
- device and browser being used;
- screenshots or error messages; and
- a description of the problem.
Where a problem is caused by our Platform, we will use reasonable efforts to restore access or provide an appropriate solution.
Where required by consumer law, this may include repair, replacement, a price reduction or refund.
PART E – INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND ACCEPTABLE USE
24. Intellectual Property Rights
Unless otherwise stated, all intellectual property rights in Learn for Care's Services and materials are owned by or licensed to Learn for Care.
This includes, where applicable:
- Course content;
- written training materials;
- presentations;
- videos;
- graphics;
- illustrations;
- assessments;
- questions;
- downloadable resources;
- website content;
- software;
- branding;
- logos; and
- Course structure and design.
Purchasing a Course gives the Learner a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the Course for learning purposes.
It does not transfer ownership of the Course or its intellectual property.
25. Downloadable Resources
Where we expressly provide materials for download, those materials may be downloaded and used for the Learner's own learning or the Customer's internal organisational purposes, subject to any restrictions stated with the resource.
Unless we give written permission, you must not:
- sell our Course materials;
- upload them to another training platform;
- publish them publicly;
- reproduce a complete Course;
- remove copyright or proprietary notices;
- commercially sublicense them;
- distribute account credentials;
- record or copy Course videos for redistribution; or
- use our content to create a competing training product.
Reasonable internal use of appropriately designated templates and workplace resources is permitted where the relevant Course makes them available for that purpose.
26. Acceptable Use
You must not use the Website or Platform to:
- break the law;
- commit fraud;
- impersonate another person;
- interfere with Platform security;
- introduce viruses, malicious code or harmful technology;
- attempt unauthorised access;
- scrape or systematically extract Course content;
- reverse engineer protected parts of the Platform;
- misuse another person's account;
- harass or abuse another user;
- manipulate Course completion records; or
- obtain certificates dishonestly.
We may investigate suspected misuse.
PART F – PLATFORM OPERATION
27. Availability of the Platform
We aim to provide reliable access to our Platform but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.
Access may occasionally be interrupted for:
- maintenance;
- upgrades;
- security work;
- technical faults;
- hosting or telecommunications failures; or
- circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where reasonably practicable, planned maintenance that is likely to cause significant disruption will be arranged to minimise inconvenience.
We will use reasonable efforts to restore access following an unexpected interruption.
28. Supported Technology
Customers and Learners are responsible for having a suitable:
- internet connection;
- device;
- operating system;
- browser; and
- software configuration
to access online learning.
We will aim to support commonly used modern browsers and devices.
If you are unsure whether a Course will work with your equipment, please contact us before purchasing.
This does not affect your statutory rights where the digital content we provide fails to meet applicable legal requirements.
29. Third-Party Services and Links
Our Website or Courses may include links to:
- government guidance;
- regulators;
- professional organisations;
- external resources;
- videos;
- publications; or
- third-party websites.
External websites are controlled by their respective operators.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, a link does not mean that Learn for Care controls or endorses every aspect of the third-party website.
We are not responsible for changes made by third parties to their websites or resources.
PART G – ACCOUNT SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION
30. Suspension of Accounts
We may temporarily restrict or suspend an account where reasonably necessary because of:
- suspected fraud;
- unauthorised account sharing;
- security concerns;
- serious or repeated breach of these Terms;
- attempted manipulation of certificates or assessments;
- unlawful activity;
- non-payment by a Business Customer; or
- a legal or regulatory requirement.
Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and give the Customer a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue.
We may act immediately where necessary to protect users, the Platform, our intellectual property or the integrity of certification.
31. Closing an Account
You may ask us to close your account by contacting us.
Closing an account does not necessarily require us to immediately delete all records. We may need to retain information relating to purchases, certificates, assessments, financial records, complaints or other matters where required or permitted by law.
Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
PART H – LIABILITY
32. Our Responsibility to Consumers
If you are a Consumer, we are responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable when the contract was made.
We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
- statutory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
If defective digital content supplied by us damages a Consumer's device or other digital content and the damage is caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill, the Consumer may have rights under applicable law.
33. Business Customer Liability
This section applies only to Business Customers.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
- any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to the above, we will not be liable to a Business Customer for:
- loss of profit;
- loss of revenue;
- loss of business;
- loss of anticipated savings;
- loss of goodwill;
- loss of opportunity; or
- indirect or consequential loss,
arising out of or in connection with the Services, except where otherwise expressly agreed in writing.
Subject to any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, our aggregate contractual liability to a Business Customer arising from a particular order will normally not exceed the total fees paid or payable to us under that order.
This limitation does not affect any separate liability provisions expressly agreed in a written contract between us and a Business Customer.
34. Employer and Customer Responsibilities
Training is one part of an organisation's wider responsibility for safe and lawful service delivery.
Business Customers remain responsible for matters including:
- deciding what training their staff require;
- assessing employee competence;
- providing supervision;
- conducting workplace assessments;
- maintaining appropriate policies and procedures;
- ensuring staffing arrangements are safe;
- complying with applicable legislation and regulation; and
- determining when refresher or additional training is necessary.
Learn for Care does not assume the employer's statutory or regulatory responsibilities merely because training has been purchased from us.
PART I – DATA PROTECTION
35. Personal Information
We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection legislation.
Our Privacy Policy explains, among other matters:
- what personal information we collect;
- why we use it;
- how long we retain it;
- who we may share it with; and
- the rights available to individuals.
Customers should read the Privacy Policy alongside these Terms.
36. Company Account Learner Data
Where an organisation creates or manages accounts for Learners, data-protection responsibilities will depend on the circumstances and applicable law.
The organisation is responsible for ensuring that it is entitled to provide Learner information to us and to view training information available through its Company Account.
Learn for Care will handle personal data in accordance with applicable data protection law and our Privacy Policy.
Where necessary for larger or specialist arrangements, separate data-processing terms may be agreed.
37. Marketing Communications
Service communications necessary to operate an account or provide a purchased Course may be sent irrespective of marketing preferences. These may include password resets, purchase confirmations, Course information, security notifications and important service changes.
Marketing communications will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy and electronic-marketing laws.
Where required, you may unsubscribe from marketing messages using the unsubscribe facility provided or by contacting us.
PART J – COMPLAINTS
38. Complaints
We aim to resolve concerns fairly and promptly.
If you have a complaint, please contact:
Email: support@learnforcare.co.uk
Please include:
- your name;
- your account email address;
- the Course or order concerned;
- a description of the issue; and
- what outcome you are seeking.
We will acknowledge or respond to complaints within a reasonable period and will aim to resolve them as promptly as practicable.
Complex complaints may require additional investigation.
Nothing in this complaints procedure affects any legal rights or remedies available to you.
PART K – GENERAL TERMS
39. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect:
- changes in law or regulation;
- changes to our Services;
- new Platform functionality;
- security requirements;
- changes in payment or account processes; or
- clarification or improvement of the Terms.
The latest version will be published on our Website with an updated revision date.
Changes will not retrospectively remove rights that have already arisen under a completed transaction.
Where a material change affects an ongoing paid Service, we will take reasonable steps to notify affected Customers where appropriate.
40. Changes to Courses
We may update Courses to maintain their accuracy, quality, relevance, regulatory alignment or accreditation.
Minor changes may be made without notice.
If we make a material change that substantially alters a Course already purchased, we will act reasonably and, where appropriate, offer continued access to an equivalent Course or another suitable remedy.
41. Events Outside Our Reasonable Control
We will not be responsible for delay or failure to perform obligations caused by events outside our reasonable control.
These may include:
- widespread internet or telecommunications failures;
- hosting-provider outages;
- cyber incidents despite reasonable security measures;
- natural disasters;
- fire or flood;
- industrial disputes;
- government action;
- epidemics or public emergencies; or
- failures of critical third-party infrastructure.
This clause does not remove rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
42. Transfer and Subcontracting
We may use appropriately selected service providers, contractors and technology partners to help deliver our Services.
We remain responsible for our contractual obligations to the extent required by law.
You may not transfer your rights under a Course licence to another person except where these Terms or the Platform expressly allow assignment.
43. If Part of These Terms Is Invalid
If a court or competent authority determines that any provision of these Terms is unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
Where possible, the affected provision will be treated as modified only to the extent necessary to make it lawful and enforceable.
44. Delay in Enforcing These Terms
If we do not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, that does not mean we have waived our right to enforce it later.
45. Third-Party Rights
Except where expressly provided otherwise, a person who is not a party to the applicable contract has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce these Terms.
46. Entire Agreement – Business Customers
If you are a Business Customer, these Terms together with any quotation, order confirmation or separately agreed written contract constitute the agreement relating to the applicable Services.
Nothing in this provision limits liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
This provision does not restrict statutory rights available to Consumers.
47. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a Consumer living in another part of the United Kingdom, you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in your local courts and benefit from mandatory protections applicable to you.
For Business Customers, unless otherwise agreed in writing, the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the Services.
