Care Certificate Standard 1 helps health and social care workers understand their role, responsibilities and professional working relationships. This online course explains how workers contribute to safe, effective and person-centred care. It covers agreed ways of working, professional boundaries, accountability, partnership working and the importance of reporting concerns. The course is suitable for new care workers, healthcare assistants, support workers and existing staff completing induction or refresher training.

Objectives

• The Care Certificates, which outline the essential skills you'll need to possess to work in the health and social care sectors, can be incorporated into your introduction process.
• Before assuming any job where you may operate without direct supervision, you should complete and assess each standard. This may be done gradually and should happen right at the beginning of your job.
• If you fulfil all requirements, you could be permitted to operate independently in the sections of the job that fall under that standard, but you will still require supervision in other areas.   
• This Care Course is provided via e-learning on the internet. After completing the Understand Your Role course, learners will have immediate access to our interactive LMS, which provides round-the-clock access to the curriculum.

Agreed Ways of Working:

Agreed ways of working include the policies, procedures, care plans, job descriptions and professional guidance that explain how work should be carried out safely.

Workers should understand and follow the agreed ways of working that apply to their role. If instructions are unclear, appear unsafe or fall outside their training and competence, they should stop and seek advice from an appropriate manager or professional.

Assessment

This online course supports the knowledge requirements of Care Certificate Standard 1. Completion of the course and assessment does not replace employer-led induction, role-specific training, supervision or workplace assessment of applicable skills and behaviours.. A multiple-choice exam with a passing score of 80% must be completed. Since the answers are automatically graded, you will be able to determine your passing score. Do not worry if you fail! The exam may be taken up to twenty (20) times. If, however, you use all twenty (20) tries, you will have to buy the same course again.

Course Duration

• The online care course needs a minimum of one hour to complete. This can be a guide to the educational hours needed, and it depends on how quickly an individual can understand the course. The training is online. It may be displayed over multiple sessions or done in one session.

• Learners will have access to the present course for up to nine months from the date of joining. There's no pressure to finish the course in a short time.
