Safeguarding is a fundamental responsibility for anyone working in health and social care. Every individual has the right to live in safety, free from abuse, neglect, and harm. As a care worker, understanding how to recognise risks and respond appropriately is essential in protecting vulnerable people. This course provides a clear and practical introduction to safeguarding in care settings across the UK. It explores what safeguarding means, why it is important, and how care professionals play a key role in promoting safety and wellbeing. Learners will gain an understanding of different types of abuse, how to identify warning signs, and the correct procedures to follow when concerns arise. The course also highlights the importance of acting promptly, reporting concerns correctly, and working within legal and organisational frameworks. By developing this knowledge, learners will be better equipped to protect individuals, uphold their rights, and contribute to a safe and supportive care environment. This course is ideal for both new and existing staff and provides a strong foundation for further training, including the Care Certificate and advanced safeguarding courses.>
